Local Family Friendly Activities This Summer
It’s no secret that during the holidays it can be a little tricky trying to find things to do to keep the kids entertained. As the summer draws to a close and boredom starts to kick in, we thought we would share some of the wonderful events taking place in Ross and Stroud over the next couple of weeks to keep the whole family entertained.
This family friendly music festival will take place this weekend at Ross Rugby Club from Friday to Sunday. Now in its fifth year, the festival has 3 stages where lots of musicians will share their talents throughout the duration of the weekend. Plus, there will be food and drinks, rides, and even a firework display on the Sunday night.
The Ross Cider festival will be a weekend of delicious food, great music, wide ranging beer and fantastic cider. The family friendly festival will take place from 30th– 1stSeptember and include entertainment throughout the whole weekend. Tickets are £40 for adults or free for children under 17.
The Ross Regatta brings rowing enthusiasts from all over the country. Taking place this bank holiday weekend, it is a charitable event that last year saw close to 1000 competitors. Head down to the rowing club on the river to watch races from competitors of all different ages.
The Rococo Garden in our neighbouring town of Painswick have a wonderful sculpture exhibition on at the moment. We visited recently and absolutely loved it – a beautiful way to spend a sunny day! The Museum in the Park is the perfect place to spend a rainy day. With over 4000 objects on display, the museum tells an intriguing story of the history of the local area. There’s lots to keep kids entertained too, with dinosaur bones, interactive toys and peep holes. Take a look at their website for current exhibitions.
The Stroud Brewery Food and Music Weekender will be taking place this bank holiday weekend, featuring fantastic food, drinks, and lots of family entertainment including walkabout circus acts. Mouth-watering food options include pizza, mac and cheese, Sri Lankan inspired street food and lots more.
