Eggcelent Local Easter Activities
Easter is a wonderful time of year. The sun is starting to make a more regular appearance, lambs and daffodils are springing up across the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire countryside, and the long Easter weekend means plenty of time to spend with the family. There’s lots of fantastic events going on in and around Gloucestershire and Herefordshire this Easter, so we thought we’d share some family friendly activities in our local area for everyone to enjoy.
Newark Park, Wotton-under-Edge
It wouldn’t be Easter without an Easter Egg Hunt. This weekend, Newark Park in Wotton-under-Edge are hosting an outdoor pursuit of chocolatey treats through their beautiful garden trail. With gorgeous Cotswold views, garden games, and a new play area, it’s the perfect way to spend a sunny bank holiday weekend.
Slimbridge Wetland Centre
Slimbridge Wetland Centre have some special visitors this spring. 14 Giant Dusty Ducks have set up camp at the centre, created by Aardman Animations in Bristol. The ducks have been designed by different celebrities including Joanna Lumley, Chris Packham and Kate Humble. Find all 14 on the Dusty Duck Trail this Easter.
Rococo Garden, Painswick
The Rococo Garden is a popular historical attraction tucked away in the Cotswold countryside. This Easter, the gardens have been under threat from an egg thief, who has been stealing eggs from well-loved woodland characters. It’s the task of your young detectives to track down the clues down and identify the culprit. A fun challenge for the young ones and the perfect excuse for the grownups to amble around the beautiful gardens and admire the blooms in their springtime splendour.
CountryTastic will be returning to the Three Counties Showground on Thursday 18thApril. Families can expect a huge range of indoor and outdoor activities from the world of farming and food. From tractor and trailer rides to pottery workshops, there’s an event for every family member to enjoy.
Spring is in the air at Newbridge Farmpark with lots of new additions being welcomed to the farm. Enjoy lamb bottle feeding and holding chicks, bunnies, and other baby animals this Easter weekend. Plus, children can join in with the Easter treasure hunt around the park and take part in some Easter-themed craft activities.
